The 2016 Back to St Bartholomew's Day was a great success. Many visitors came to celebrate the 175th Anniversary of the opening of the Church. It was also our 10th Annual Open Day. The weather was perfect and the atmosphere was a happy one. There has been much positive feedback from visitors. Many people met up with distant relatives that they had not seen for ages or had not even met before. The Town Crier and NSW Corps of Marines added colour and atmosphere as they interacted with the visitors.

Despite the wet weather being a threat all week, the Open Day 12th April 2014, went ahead and was still a success even though the clouds kept some stall holders and some visitors away.

We thank Blacktown City Council staff and our marvellous Committee Members and volunteers who worked very hard in the weeks leading up to 12 April and on the day to make the experience an enjoyable one for our visitors.

The date for next year's Open Day will be advertised here within a few months.

Back to St Bartholomew's Day, 2013

Back to St Bartholomew's Day 2013 was a wonderful success. The weather was mild and an enjoyable day was had by familes, and indivuiduals. The children enjoyed the face painting and the firing of the muskets by the NSW Corps of Marines, while the adults browsed the various stalls and the information supplied by the local history groups and The Friends including cemetery records, set up in the church.

There was great interest in the newly restored grave of William Lawson, and future developments to the Church and grounds, and the Friends had many stories and information to share.

The day was part of the National Trust Heritage Festival and run in partnership with Blacktown City Council.

A plaque was unveiled to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the Crossing of the Blue Mountains and the memory of William Lawson.

The Friends would like to thank all of our volunteers who contributed to the day, and Keynote Speaker
Dr. Siobham Lavelle OAM, and we look forward to another great Back to St Bartholomew's Day next year.
